OUR STORY
Prior to Equine SmartBit, trainers and owners relied on stopwatches and instinct to assess a horse’s readiness. Today, that changes. Our mission is to bring science, precision, and real-time data into the heart of training and care. With our patented device, The Cue, professionals can now monitor a horse’s vital signs continuously—spotting early signs of fatigue, stress, or illness before they become setbacks. From optimizing performance to enhancing wellness, the Cue gives trainers and veterinarians the insights they need to make faster, smarter decisions.

WHAT IT DOES
Our technology transforms a standard tail wrap into a powerful biometric and performance monitoring tool. It continuously captures vital signs and movement data through embedded sensors, providing instant data of a horse’s health and activity—without disrupting natural behavior.
The Cue™ gives trainers and veterinarians the opportunity to track performance, detect early warning signs, and adjust care strategies with confidence. When paired with historical trends, it becomes a valuable tool for long-term health optimization and preventative care.

HOW IT WORKS

The Cue™ is an under-the-tail device that continuously monitors heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and body temperature—without probes, patches, or bulky gear. Designed for the unique demands of equine physiology, the integrated sensors work in tandem with motion tracking to deliver accurate data in both training and resting environments.
Using photoplethysmography (PPG) technology, the system analyzes reflected light to track cardiovascular data by capturing subtle changes in blood flow beneath the skin, while a thermal sensor captures accurate body temperature from the tail surface. These vitals are paired with motion tracking and speed detection, allowing trainers to correlate physiological changes with activity levels in real-time. The data is processed through an onboard system that identifies performance trends, flags abnormalities, and syncs with our database for continuous health and training optimization.
